About Paul Morton

Paul joined the Inland Revenue in 1977.   He became a Senior Inspector of Taxes and retired from HM Revenue & Customs after more than 43 years of service.  Throughout that time Paul underwent training in many aspects of personal tax, business tax and investigation work.  This has given him an extensive knowledge of most areas of taxation within the UK.

Whilst at HMRC Paul was involved in mentoring new Inspectors of Taxes.  Utilising the strong rapport he is able to develop with people, he shared his vast knowledge and experience, supporting learners throughout their first years.

Much of Paul's work was as an Accounts Investigator and this required him to undertake enquiries into both Income Tax and Corporation Tax returns as well as personal tax including Capital Gains.  His knowledge and experience was further broadened working enquiries into larger businesses and corporations as well as technical and specialist areas.
